Our Dental Technology
Digital Scanning
At West End Orthodontics, we don’t take impressions, we will be scanning your teeth and bite using a digital scanner. This scanner uses NO RADIATION and takes a complete scan of your teeth in just a few minutes. NO MORE GOOP!
Digital Radiographs
At West End Orthodontics we exclusively take digital radiographs simply because we are able to procure better images with less radiation and its our patients’ safety that always comes first.
3D Printing
At West End Orthodontics, we 3D print your models to make your retainers!
It's all done the same day you have your finished treatment!
Emergency Information
Problems With Orthodontics
Invisalign®
Because Invisalign® is made of plastic, there are very few situations which will require any kind of emergency service. The situations which you may experience during your Invisalign treatment include:
Lost or Broken Aligner
If you lose or break your retainers, please let us know as soon as possible, drop off the models used to make the retainers and we can replace them for you.
Broken Attachment
A broken attachment is not an emergency. Let us know of any broken attachments at your next visit and we will replace them as needed.
Rough Edge on Your Aligner
You can use a fingernail file to smooth any places that are causing irritation. If this doesn’t fix the problem, call our office and we will make adjustments to your aligner.Retainers
There are only a few problems that you may experience with your retainer. If the tips recommended for dealing your retainer issues do not work, please call our office and make an appointment with our orthodontist.
Broken or Lost Retainers
If you lose or break your retainers, please let us know as soon as possible, drop off the models used to make the retainers and we can replace them for you.
Tightly Fitting Retainers
Call our office so we can determine if you simply need to wear the retainer full time for a while or if you need a new retainer.
